Community Support & Outreach Services
Domestic Violence Hotline: Staffed 24/7, this hotline provides crisis intervention, information and referrals, and problem solving.
Counseling: Professionals specializing in domestic violence provide counseling to survivors; counseling is available in Spanish and English, through group and individual sessions held in various locations. Call 908-355-1500.
Legal Representation/Court Advocacy: An attorney specializing in domestic violence provides representation for issues pertaining to family law as well as housing and immigration; in addition, court advocates assist clients in navigating the legal system to secure restraining orders, as well as assisting with court preparation and advocacy. Call 908-355-1995 ext. 115 or 120.
Domestic Violence Response Teams: Trained volunteers respond to victims at police stations, providing emotional support, safety planning, information about restraining orders and community resources.
DYFS Liaison: The agency offers support for families where both child abuse and domestic violence has been identified; support is offered via local DYFS offices.
Community Education: In order to raise awareness of domestic and dating violence and build a community network of prevention and education, presentations are offered throughout the community.
