Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is national Domestic Violence Awareness Month, an annual campaign coordinated by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. Within the month – from Oct. 16 through 22 – is the YWCA USA’s Week Without Violence. These annual campaigns have evolved into a collective effort that inspires people to take a look at the violence within their communities and join together to create positive change.
YWCA Eastern Union County opens Domestic Violence Awareness Month with its Empty Place at the Table program on October 6, honoring those who have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence.
On October 20, we will host our Empowering Women: Rewriting the Story of Domestic Violence Cocktail Reception, raising funds to support our programs and services.
Check back frequently for updates on how you can help end violence in your community!
